One Month Old

“You have taught children and infants to tell of your strength, silencing your enemies and all who oppose you.” Psalm 8:2

Eli is one month old today!

He has been holding his head up really well since he was two to three weeks old. So well, in fact, that we let him sit up in his bumbo seat all by himself before he was a month old. But during tummy time, he focuses less on his head and more on sticking his legs and feet straight up in the air. He gets pretty frustrated that he isn't a grown man that can stand up by himself and hates being held in our arms like a baby. He wants to sit up or stand. And I don't mean he just wants us to stand up while we hold him. He wants to press his tiny chicken legs up on ours and stand himself! He wants to get a good look around. And he gives us the business if we put him down if he's not asleep. His favorite things to stare at are our framed Nashville postcards and his dad. He hasn't quite grinned at us yet but can hold eye contact for a while. He likes to suck on his hand when he's getting hungry, and he's found his thumb a few times. He eats every 1-3 hours during the day and has been known to sleep as long as five hours at night in his bassinet.  He is still wearing newborn size but is starting to wear some small 0-3 months clothes. He is also starting to have some male-patterned baldness. He loves car rides, being carried in his ergo or moby wrap, any kind of music, and baths!
